In this episode I begin a new series covering ideas pertaining to playing different percussion instruments with a drummer (drum kit/drumset). Warning: There is quite a bit of talking in this episode. This video is a beginning of a new series on this topic therefore I am only touching on some ideas that will be explained further in detail in future videos. Topics in this video include:-improvisation, personality, vulnerability, developing a drum language, groove based themes vs. improvised/lead and multi-percussion instrument based themes.
In this series I will be posting shorter videos concentrating on ideas concerning four overarching themes:
-Lead or improvised theme
-Multi-percussion theme
-groove based theme
-combination of these three
