I accidentally took a more psychedelic, prog, English folk direction here, but I'm cool with that. I just love the magic of these forests and wanted to capture that in musical form.
I originally thought I could best represent this feeling through creating an ethereal, Celtic-inspired, dream-folk - but as usual, it took a different turn and we started introducing fuzz pedals and reverberated Fender amps.
It ended up getting a bit Shoegazey and you can see why I struggled to pinpoint the genre in the title of the video...but i feel "prog rock" falls fairly close, especially with a long guitar solo section...
I also realise that the same night I sang the lyrics starting "I think the sky's about to rain", we had one of the worst storms in years. The clips of that are pretty cool though.
I only had 4 tracks on the Yamaha MT4 X cassette recorder, my first video featuring this machine! and actually, I love the sound quality. I do miss having 8 tracks though. This might be TOO minimal for me. I would have loved to add bass and drums. You can probably imagine that woulda been really cool too.
Anyway, enjoy. I uploaded a t-shirt design you can buy to help support this channel. But more will come soon.
