Songs that appear in my dreams, recorded as soon as possible upon waking. Raw material for the potential Dizzy Tiger Music Co release: Stay Out Forever - 'Dream Pop (Volume 2)' (DTMC116)
The first of three songs dreamt up last night, one quite early, on in the middle of the night and one almost in the morning. In this one, I was on a week off work (as in real life this week) but popped into the shop, which was more like a Sainsbury's supermarket. There was a new Post Office manager woman there. A customer asked me where the magazines were and I went to direct her to an off shopfloor store-room that was stocking all the additional mags but I had to check with the manager that we were still using that as it was also starting to be used as a pre-Christmas stock storage area. Then me and a workmate went down to Bexhill station and bumped into one of our Post Office colleagues there. I ended up on a housing estate, looking at some detached houses. The couple who owned one were showing people around the street. A documentary on cruise holidays was showing, the voiceover talking about a company whose voyages were "earned by reputation". In the documentary, the ship was going to raise its "anchor and tiller" from the seabed (hence this song) although the voiceover then added something about "this unfortunately drowned moggie" and the camera cut to a seagull swimming on the surface of the sea, with a stiff, rigor mortis tabby cat floating just under the surface.
