Resistor color codes are used to indicate the value of resistors. The codes consist of colored bands painted on the body of the resistor. Here is a description of the standard color code system:

### Color Bands
1. **Black**: 0

### Multiplier (Third Band)

### Tolerance (Fourth Band)
- **Brown**: ±1%
- **Red**: ±2%
- **Green**: ±0.5%

- **Gray**: ±0.05%
- **Gold**: ±5%
- **Silver**: ±10%
- **No Band**: ±20%

### Reading the Resistor
1. **First two bands**: Represent the first two digits of the resistor value.
2. **Third band**: Represents the multiplier.
3. **Fourth band** (if present): Represents the tolerance.

#### Example
If a resistor has the bands **Red, Violet, Yellow, Gold**:
- Red (2)
- Violet (7)
- Yellow ( \( \times 10,000 \) )
- Gold (±5%)

The resistance value is \( 27 \times 10,000 = 270,000 \) ohms or 270 kΩ with a tolerance of ±5%.
