The Cassette Archives is my personal collection of DJ mixes, radio mixes and studio mixes spanning the UK rave and hardcore scene during the early 1990's. Most of these tapes are one offs and will not be available anywhere else online.The seventh volume of this series features a short recording of DJ D-Lite playing on the South London Pirate Radio Station Energy 87.9 FM from way back in the summer of 1993. I decided to upload it anyway, as it also features some classic Energy adverts voiced over by some of my old friends including DJ Traffik and French Kris.
Energy FM had many homes in South London over the years including Crystal Palace, Norwood, Croydon and even New Addington in its very early days!
This short mix features tunes from the likes of the Invisible Man and and a couple of classic from FBD - plus it's always good to hear my bro on the mic!
I have many fond memories of time spent at the Energy HQ - wherever it was currently being broadcast, including a few near misses with the DTI back in the day!
