Eid-al Fitr is celebrated by many communities around the world, that many of us may not instantly associate with Muslim festivals, but they are all tied together by a shared faith and common rituals and food traditions.In this video, Myra Karakelle, who is of Uzbek-Afghan origin, tells the story of Eid in their community through their most cherished dish and personal memories. Myra's ‘signature’ dish is an Uzbek plov, which is a rice-based dish that is a centrepiece for any celebration in the Uzbek community, and a staple in food from Uzbekistan.
