Built in 1968, Lafayette Square was the first enclosed mall in Indianapolis, Indiana. Post-millenium, the mall gained a reputation as a violent place and began to die before closing in 2022. Planned to reopen just months later, it has remained empty ever since, with latest plans calling for demolition of most of the mall.
