Photocopying, often referred to as Xerox or xeroxing, has become an integral part of the modern printing business. Originally known as "electrophotography," this innovative process was pioneered by American inventor Chester Carlson in 1938. However, when the Haloid Corporation obtained the license to manufacture and market the photocopying machine in 1947, they recognized the need for a more accessible term. "Electrophotography" was deemed too complex for everyday use, with their common customers being students, offices, universities/colleges, employees, workers and simply the general consumer. Hence, Haloid and Carlson opted to rename the process "xerography," deriving the term from the Greek words for "dry" and "writing." To complement this rebranding, Haloid Corporation transformed into Xerox, a name that became synonymous with photocopying worldwide. Thanks to Carlson's revolutionary invention and with Xerox's success, this revolutionary technology reshaped the industry, allowing individuals and businesses alike to effortlessly duplicate documents and images through the simple act of xeroxing.Need a voiceover for your project?
