Medusa is one of the three Gorgons in Greek mythology. Gorgons are female monsters with horrible faces, wearing snakes on their heads instead of hair.Anyone who looks at them immediately turns to stone.
Medusa is the only mortal Gorgon.
After numerous warriors failed in their attempts to kill her, the hero Perseus, a son of Zeus, tries to approach Medusa with a mirrored shield and a cap of invisibility in order to cut off her head.
