What happened:
➡️ The biker is repairing his motorcycle on the road, in a section with limited visibility (turn).
➡️ A truck is approaching him. The truck driver SEES an obstacle and HONS HORN!
➡️ The motorcyclist, apparently, EXPECTS that the truck will go around him and not hit him. He continues to stand/repair.
➡️ The calculation turns out to be FATALLY WRONG! The truck hits the bike, the motorcyclist falls. MIRACULOUSLY, he survived!
❗ MAIN MISTAKES and LESSONS FOR EVERYONE:
1. INCORRECT STOPPING PLACE: Stopping for repairs on a TURN, where visibility is limited and the maneuvering space for other vehicles is narrowed - DEADLY DANGEROUS! Always try to roll/push the vehicle to the safest possible place (shoulder, parking lot, site).
2. RELYING ON ANOTHER DRIVER: NEVER count on another road user (especially a large one!) being able or willing to drive around you in a dangerous situation. You do not know his skills, condition or dimensions of the cargo. The horn of a truck is a SCREAM OF DANGER, not just information.
3. IGNORING THE SIGNAL: The sound signal is a warning of OBVIOUS DANGER from another driver. It should be perceived as a command for IMMEDIATE action to eliminate the obstacle (if possible and safe).
4. UNDERESTIMATION OF SIZE: Motorcyclists are especially vulnerable. Even a small snag of a large vehicle can lead to the most serious consequences.
🚨 This video is a CRUEL, but IMPORTANT lesson for all road users! Safety on the road is, first of all, FORESIGHT and RESPONSIBILITY for your actions. Do not create dangerous situations and do not rely on "maybe"!
💬 Be sure to write in the comments: How do you rate the biker's actions? Have you encountered similar situations?
