During an interview with offtrendhq in the UK, mgk talked about emo fashion.

"What is the most cliché thing about emo fashion?" the interviewer asked.

mgk said, "It's cliché, but I also love it. It's spikes 'cause when people give me pieces, they think like, they could just put spikes on anything and that I'll just be like, 'Whoa, dude,' like, 'Totally what I wanted,' you know."

30 seconds later, the interviewer asked mgk, "What has been your favourite fashion moment?"

"I had Dolce and Gabbana suit with these ridiculously long spikes on..." mgk said. "Wow, wow, wow. Just eating my words right now."

"Hypocritical. We're being a bit hypocritical," the interviewer said.

"Eating my words here. So cliché," mgk said.

FYI: mgk wore the Dolce and Gabbana purple suit with long spikes on at the American Music Awards (AMAs) in 2022, which went viral right away and became one of the most iconic outfits in history. mgk is a fashion icon.
