U.S. Attorney Dawn Ison, joined by Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy and Detroit Police Chief James White - along with leaders from community groups - announced a law enforcement initiative that started Memorial Day and lasts thru Labor Day.The most crime-plagued neighborhoods in the City - located in parts of the 8th and 9th police precincts - will be zoned during this time - to prosecute certain felony offenders - with the full might of the federal government - in U.S. District Court.
Simultaneously, community leaders will continuously outreach to engage folks in positive, self-enriching and community-enhancing activities.
