Our EP is finally on streaming services 😁
Welp, Here's our final single. 3 stories of love told across different times scales. Expect the EP to release around the end of this week. As for this song, I really wished I could've done better with this one, lyrically and vocally XD but It is what it is. I got inspired to write this one after seeing a couple of my friends really making it with their immigrant lovers ❤ Is it good? Super dumb? Hate it and its very existence? Let us know in the comments down below :)
It has been a hell of a ride folks :) Thank you for all the warm support over the past few months with our original music. We just took our first step with this EP and really want to discover ourselves and our style as we keep making more original stuff. Lyrics
(Verse 1)
She came straight out of Africa. Met her on the dunes of the Levant.
To my Neanderthal anima, her shapely form and sophistication did enchant.
Entwined with a sultry homo sapien, as we chill through the Pleistocene.
But I won't be there to see it end. So will you still love me into the Holocene?
(Chorus 1)
And my fears erode, my love—cause I'm now in your genetic code, my immigrant lover.
Might have been your kind, my love. Who brought about my decline, my immigrant lover.
I may be extinct, my love. But I live on through our link, my immigrant lover.
I don't fear the void, my love. Cause our fates are now conjoined, my immigrant lover.
(Verse 2)
He came straight out of planet Earth, Met him in a bar on a Jovian moon.
The songs and stories that I heard made my colonial life appear to be so out of tune.
Entwined with a charming Terran man, as I get the first taste of my beloved homeworld.
Of off-world living? He's a fan, and I relished as all his space-age daydreams unfurled.
(Chorus 2)
I've never been home, my love—only lived on orbits and in domes, my immigrant lover.
But your music and poems, my love. Made me feel the oceans and loam, my immigrant lover.
As our kind expands, my love. Into the unknown holding hands, my immigrant lover.
In a ship with you, my love. Let's find a world that's green and blue, my immigrant lover.
(Verse 3)
It came straight out of Trappist 1. We met out in interstellar space.
It's transmission I did not shun, and for the first time ever, our species embrace.
Although we harbored some reluctance, all notions of fear and suspicion died as contact was made.
Speech and language became redundant as through some mental medium, our truest feelings we conveyed.
(Chorus 3)
It felt forbidden, my love. But we were both clearly smitten, my immigrant lover.
Will this even work, my love. As our differences will always lurk, my immigrant lover.
How will you be perceived, my love. Inspire hate or be well-received, my immigrant lover.
The storms we weather, my love. We'll brace them all together, my immigrant lover.
