"Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines" is a science fiction action film and the third installment in the Terminator franchise. Directed by Jonathan Mostow, the film follows John Connor, now in his twenties, who has been living off the grid to avoid detection by Skynet. Despite his efforts, Skynet sends a new, advanced Terminator—the T-X (also known as the Terminatrix), a deadly female-shaped machine—to kill Connor and other future resistance leaders before they can rise to power.

To protect him, the Resistance sends back a reprogrammed T-800 Terminator, the same model that previously protected him as a child. John reluctantly joins forces with the Terminator and Kate Brewster, a veterinarian who is also targeted by the T-X and is destined to become John's future wife and second-in-command. As Skynet's activation becomes inevitable, the trio races to stop it—but they soon realize that Judgment Day may not be preventable.
