Members of the community ventured out to Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, N.Y. on Monday to help dig out stadium seating after a major snowstorm blanketed the region throughout the weekend.
Those who helped out were paid $20 per hour as the Buffalo Bills Wild Card matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers had to be postponed from Sunday.
Gov. Kathy Hochul on Sunday explained the decision to postpone the game to Monday, saying, “We could not risk the safety of our fans and the personnel at the stadium and all of our first responders in law enforcement because of the triple threat where you get the high winds, you get the bitter cold and the blowing snow.”
