🤝 Biodiversity Day is a reminder of the urgent need to halt and reverse global biodiversity loss by supporting the implementation of the Global Biodiversity Framework.This is a global effort, with businesses and industries playing a pivotal role in driving transformational change – for better and for worse. Here’s how we are working with our members to be #PartOfThePlan to end nature loss:
🌱 Adopting progressive commitments to achieve no net loss or net gain of biodiversity at all mine sites by closure.
🌱 Not mining or exploring in World Heritage Sites and respecting all legally designated protected areas.
🌱 Pursuing progressive restoration, rehabilitation and/or reclamation where feasible, and commencing offsets for residual adverse impacts as early as possible.
By weaving these practices into our work, we are turning commitment into action for a safer and more sustainable world. Today we reaffirm our dedication to biodiversity and taking concrete steps to support the implementation of the Framework. 🌏💚
