Recently while JustPlanes was filming arrivals at MANCHESTER AIRPORT we filmed this BOEING 757-200 landing with its RAT deployed.Ram Air Turbine is only used in an emergency when there is a loss of power, RAT will power vital systems (flight controls, linked hydraulics and also flight-critical instrumentation)
Perhaps some of the local Manchester spotters have more information about this landing and what kind of problem or emergency was involved as we do not however such sightings are super rare. Not sure if we've ever filmed one in our 29 years of filming planes landing!
UPDATE Manchester Spotters confirm the aircraft declared an Emergency!
