The Ramones' band name was inspired by 1960s Beatles stage names.When the Silver Beatles backed Johnny Gentle on his Scottish tour in 1960, they all took on stage names. John called himself Long John, George was Carl Harrison and Paul became Paul Ramon.
Dee Dee Ramone was a big fan of the Beatles and suggested to the others that they should all take on the surname, Ramone. They liked the idea...
