With this new b•records album, Victor Julien-Laferrière and the Consuelo Orchestra lay the first stone of a titanic edifice: the complete nine symphonies of Ludwig van Beethoven. Supported by the Festival de la Chaise-Dieu, which lends it the exceptional acoustics of its abbey church, this project, conceived over four years, marks a decisive step for the young orchestra with variable geometry. Composed mainly of chamber musicians, the ensemble forges a meticulous and passionate collective identity in this first opus devoted to symphonies Nos. 1, 2 and 4, which already bear witness to the quest for intelligibility and universality of the language specific to Beethoven's symphonic corpus.
