Needless to say that everyone knows that Peggy Lee's version was the biggest hit version of them all.
First release however with the title "Weed Smoker's Dream" was done by the Harlem Hamfats in November 1936.
Lil Green was the first who recorded it with the common title. She recorded it on April 23, 1941.
