Paul McCartney (born in 1942) and Linda Eastman were married in 1969 and had three children together. Paul also adopted Linda's daughter from her first marriage and raised her as his own. Linda McCartney (1941-1998), an American photographer and animal rights activist, was Paul’s most important companion throughout his life. They often retreated to a farmhouse in Scotland, which he purchased to escape the frenzy of Beatlemania.
John Lennon, who married Yoko Ono in 1969, remarked, “Linda faced the same insults and hatred simply for falling in love with Paul McCartney.”
