Shadow Home Affairs and Cyber Security Minister James Paterson has again denied connections with dis-endorsed Liberal Party candidate Benjamin Britton.

Mr Britton was dis-endorsed for the seat of Whitlam due to his belief women should not serve in army combat roles, after which Mr Paterson denied close connections with the now-independent candidate.

Mr Paterson has denied this despite a series of leaked emails and documents that suggest otherwise.

“I stand by everything I said to Andrew Clennell and anyone else who’s asked about this issue,” Mr Paterson said.

“I never employed Mr Britton in any capacity, voluntary or paid. Anything he sent me was of his own initiative, and it was unsolicited.”
