We join the local as it switches Hill Bros Chemical off Main 2 on the Los Angeles Subdivision, then shoves west to CP C016 Avocado Heights to change over to Main 1.
With the engine pulling, the train proceeds east onto the ISO Industrial Lead longhood forward, showcasing the "blunt end" of the unique GP40P-2 powering the train. It picks up two hoppers from Mercury Plastics, then goes to a small siding to prepare to run around its train. The power cuts away and heads lite to the end of the branch for an unknown reason before returning to the siding and coupling to the other end of its cut of cars.
With its industrial switching work complete, the train pulls back out onto the Los Angeles Sub main, then shoves back east to City of Industry Yard where it will tie up for the morning, with an old SP bay window caboose on the point.
UP 1373, a rare EMD GP40P-2, one of three produced, is the solo engine on today's move. Note the graffiti covering the entire locomotive. Thanks for watching!
