Bongo | House Disco Indie Dance | Tilt Shift Tuesday 11th March 2025

Bongo, whose name comes from his love for organic and latin percussion, is a DJ who doesn’t limit himself to any one genre but flows through many, provided they fit a single characteristic: groovy. Moving through tempos and offering infectious melodies, Bongo is sure to light up the crowd and make everyone dance until they drop. Born in Los Angeles, California to a musical family, then moving to Melbourne, Australia at the age of five - rhythm and groove flow through his veins. Inspired heavily by the nightlife scene of Melbourne, spending many nights at venues like Section 8, HER Music Room, Toff and Angel Music Bar, Bongo has taken many different sources of motivation for the dancefloors he likes to create.

Holding a residency at Howler and playing iconic Melbourne venues such as Revolver Upstairs and New Guernica during his first year of DJing, Bongo is a rising star to watch in the Melbourne electronic music scene. Up next on his musical journey is delving further into production, with his co-release in November 2024, "Edinburgh," under the alias "Flaming Gorge," blending many electronic and acoustic components. Borrowing from the photography term, Tilt Shift refers to two different types of movement, a selective focus with a large depth of field used to control perception. As we have come to think of it, it’s where the lines blur

Since our debut as Tilt Shift in 2017 facilitated events at a variety of the city's most reputable late-night haunts like Revolver, Boney, Section 8 & New Guernica. In this time we have hosted & toured artists such as: Marvin & Guy, Curses, The Hacker, Tronic Youth & Timothy Clerkin
