The Turtles were a pop rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1965 with six members. They disbanded in 1970, but Kaylan and Volman continued duo as Flo & Eddie due to a contract with White Whale Records that barred them from using their real names. They produced several duet albums and worked as backup vocalists for various artists. In 1974, they bought the Turtles' master recordings when White Whale's catalog was auctioned off, allowing them to release a compilation album titled "Happy Together Again."
In the 2010s, they sought to revive their past success with the "Happy Together" 25th Anniversary Tour, but due to Kaylan's health issues, Ron Dante took his place in 2018.
