Transcription:
NASA is preparing to launch the Artemis 1 rocket into space. The launch window is open for 4 hours and the rocket is ready to carry the Orion spacecraft approximately 1.3 million miles or 2.1 million kilometres onto a distant retrograde orbit around the Moon.
This flight is the first in a series of increasingly complex missions, Artemis I is an uncrewed test flight that will provide a foundation for human deep space exploration. The Artemis program will be followed by Artemis launches 2 and 3.
Artemis 2, is a crewed flight beyond the Moon which will take humans the farthest they’ve ever been in space.
Artemis 3, is a mission that will land the first female astronaut and the first astronaut of colour on the Moon to spend a week performing scientific studies on the lunar surface.
