Hello and greetings from Patagonia! Today, we are going to visit Estancia Tecka Lodge - a world-renowned fly fishing lodge and working sheep ranch that’s considered one of Patagonia’s best-kept secrets! Estancia Tecka Lodge encompasses 435,000 acres along the base of the Andes Mountains and it dates back to 1910 when the British imported Merino wool sheep from Australia.

We were lucky enough to spend 3 days here learning to fly fish, visiting the sheep ranch, enjoying barbecues and home-cooked meals, and feasting our eyes on the autumn foliage!

From Esquel: 1 h south on Route 40 → Provincial 17 → 35 km of gravel turns to the lodge gates → Caridad Lodge check-in.

First Afternoon “Picada” Snack

Warm pão non-bread, prosciutto, avocado dip, cheese & fruit skewers—perfect fuel for a river expedition.

Estancia Canyon Waterfall

Guided Jeep tour to a fiery-hued canyon waterfall; autumn reds, oranges and ochres everywhere.
