The people of Slavia believed the forest was protected by Zhiva, the mother goddess of life and rebirth. Each spring, they gathered beneath the oldest oak to give thanks for the harmony she brought to their lives.

Children danced in the sunlight, elders offered herbs and songs, and the wind carried their joy through the trees. In the quiet that followed, the leaves shimmered with a golden glow — a sign that Zhiva had heard them.
