Transcript:

Let's explore Derby Line, a unique town located in Vermont. What makes it so special is that the US-Canada border runs right through it.

Many houses lie partially in both countries, with the border sometimes even splitting the buildings. But the most iconic building in Derby Line is the Haskell Free Library and Opera House, which was deliberately built straddling the US-Canada border.

The entrance is in the US, but the books and opera stage are in Canada. A black line runs through the library's floor, marking the international border.

Some roads, like Canusa Street, run directly on the border, meaning one side of the street is in the US and the other in Canada.

In the past, people could freely walk or drive across the border without any issues. But now, if you want to cross into Canada, you'll have to pass through the checkpoint just outside the town.
