Bruce Hall was born on May 3, 1953 in Champaign, Illinois, and joined the band in 1977. Hall made significant contributions to the band, writing and performing on songs such as Back on the Road Again, Girl With the Heart of Gold, Let's Be-Bop, Born to Love You.Bruce Hall joined REO Speedwagon in 1977 and became the bass guitarist and vocalist.
In 2024, due to disagreements between Bruce Hall and Kevin Cronin, the band announced that they would cease touring as of January 1, 2025.
Benefit concert: Bruce Hall organized a special concert in his hometown to raise money for cancer research.
