After weeks of anticipation, we break out the XP Deus II metal detector and take it for its first proper spin across our land — and what an adventure it turns out to be! 🔍⚒️
With the sun shining and the soil calling, we dig up all sorts of curious artefacts hidden beneath the earth — most of them gloriously unidentifiable, and what Katie enthusiastically refers to as “squiggly bits of metal”. 🌀🪙
But it’s not all rusty nails and bent tin… oh no. Among the day's discoveries, Katie is convinced she has unearthed Mary Queen of Scots’ purse pistol.
🏰🔫 Is it a moment of royal historical significance… or just a well-weathered crap? We'll let you be the judge! 👑
There’s something magical about connecting with the past beneath your feet — even when that past mostly looks like old bits of wire. 😅 Still, the excitement is real, and this marks only the beginning of our metal-detecting adventures at Kirkfell.
