This movie deals with the many weaknesses of Christ. Here, we have a beautiful speech that fails to capture the essence of the message it tries to carry. Jesus is delivering a speech to a small group of poor people, to whom he emphasizes Love and Love for Justice. Yet, how come the message is perverted and ends with the word "Death"? How come from Love we reach Death?! Jesus tries to explain a spiritual concept that the populace cannot understand. They do not want the Word, they want Food to appease their own bodies. There is a desire to have a leader that can take down the oppressors. Therefore the struggle resides, perhaps, in the need for an immediate and tangible liberation, rather than an inner transformation.Christ fails his mission, and his words are misunderstood and distorted.
