At Mobile World Congress 2024, Anthropic, SK Telecom, and AWS discussed the results of the collaboration to develop industry-specific large language models (LLMs) for the telecommunications sector. Neerav Kingsland from Anthropic explained how they fine-tuned their LLM, Claude, using SK Telecom's data to create TelClaude, an LLM tailored for telecom use cases like customer service. Will Cho from SK Telecom highlighted three phases of applying TelClaude: AI-powered contact centers, improving existing services like spam detection, and developing personal AI assistants. Privacy and security were addressed by removing personal data during training and hosting the model securely on Amazon Bedrock. The companies aim to make TelClaude available for global telcos to accelerate innovation at scale.
