We have Audrey's Dad Daniel to thank for doing most of the cooking as he braved -20 temperatures outside cooking without gloves! After preparing everything it felt amazing to sit down and tuck into such an enormous spread of breakfast food items. We normally don't eat anything this substantial for breakfast; however, a traditional lumberjack or logger's breakfast would offer such high calorie items given the demands of working outside doing heavy duty labour all day long.
With the amount of food we ate this was definitely a brunch not just a breakfast. If you're looking to have an authentic Canadian breakfast our most recommended item would be maple syrup. Let us know in the comments below if you enjoy massive breakfasts or brunches like this one? What breakfast foods do you eat on a day to day basis? Also, if you have any other suggestions for breakfast ideas you'd like to see us try making at home be sure to let us know.
Canadian Lumberjack Breakfast in the Snow ❄️🍁 Epic Winter Cookout, Shoveling & Family Fun in Canada
Description:
❄️ Canadian Winter Wonderland: A Snow Day Begins in Ontario 🇨🇦🌨️
The video opens with a blast of Canadian winter – 25 centimeters of fresh snow have blanketed everything overnight! The family wakes up to a snowy landscape, with excitement in the air as they prepare for a day of classic cold-weather adventure. Togo, the energetic dog, is overjoyed, leaping and playing in the snow while his humans begin the challenging task of shoveling out the driveway and cars. Even shoveling becomes fun when Togo insists on biting the shovel and getting buried in fresh powder. The family laughs at his antics, all while bracing for a big Canadian breakfast earned through hard work. In this household, breakfast begins with shoveling a couple of tons of snow—a true northern workout that builds up a hearty appetite.
🚗 Snow Challenges & Neighborhood Adventures: Stuck Cars, Shovels, and Community Spirit 🏘️❗
After clearing the path, the crew heads out for groceries—only to find the side streets packed deep with snow. On the way back, the car gets stuck, but the neighborhood comes together. City employees driving by spot the family in need, jump out with shovels and a snow-clearing machine, and rescue the stranded vehicle. Everyone pitches in, and valuable lessons are shared about always carrying a sturdy shovel during Canadian winters. Momentum is key when driving in deep snow—without it, you’re sure to get stuck!
🔥 Outdoor Cooking Begins: Lumberjack Breakfast Prep in the Snow 🥓🍳🪵
Now the real fun starts: an epic lumberjack breakfast cooked outside in the minus 20°C chill! With everyone bundled up, including Togo, the three “lumberjacks” (and their trusty canine) march out to the barbecue, barely able to find the steps under the thick snow. The first order of business is lighting the fire, a battle against the cold wind. Soon, the sizzle of bacon and sausage fills the air as dad expertly mans the grill. Hash browns and maple beans are next, while pancakes are flipped indoors by Ariel. The menu is a delicious celebration of Canadian comfort food: eggs, bacon, sausages, ham, meatballs, pancakes, hash browns, and of course, a generous helping of sweet maple syrup.
🥞 Full Canadian Feast: Maple, Meat, and Musical Beans on the Table 🍁🍽️
Breakfast is finally served inside, where the whole family gathers around a groaning table. Every dish bursts with flavor, from maple-glazed sausages and bacon to pancakes swimming in real Canadian syrup. The beans—dubbed “musical beans” for good reason—are simmered in bacon fat, rich, sweet, and destined to cause giggles later on. Homemade coffee is poured from a special pour-over set, a birthday present that’s become a household favorite. Even Togo the dog gets his share of eggs and bacon, his tail wagging in delight at the protein treat. Laughter flows as the “cardiologist special” breakfast is toasted with shots of maple rum, everyone savoring the warmth after freezing outside.
