In Syria’s Raqqa, locals tell stories of a mass grave used by ISIS to dump bodies. By using a drone and gathering evidence posted online, the Digital Investigations Lab at Human Rights Watch pieces together what happened, and who may be down there.
From grainy footage taken by citizens on the ground to satellite imagery, a small team of five people meticulously stitches together evidence of war crimes and human rights abuses to build a case against the people, organizations or governments committing unimaginable atrocities.
