Track 3 from their self-titled debut album released in 1973 copyright Columbia Records and recorded at Intermedia Studios in Boston, where the band was formed in 1970. Atlantic Records & Columbia Records reps were invited to watch the band’s performance at Max’s Kansas City in New York. Clive Davis, the president of Columbia was impressed and signed them in the summer of ’72. The band was nervous recording their first album and Steven Tyler admitted he changed his voice to sound more bluesy. The album was mostly overlooked and only reached No. 59 on the Billboard chart. However, the record company re-released the single “Dream On” in 1975 and it became a hit reaching No. 6 on the chart in 1976. The album went on to achieve Gold status in 1975 and 2X Platinum status in 1986. Written by Steven Tyler and produced by Adrian Barber.
