In this presentation, we discuss Aristotelian metaphysics. In his book on metaphysics, Aristotle rethinks his position on what counts as a substance. I will present and explain his criteria for being a substance. I will also explain how these criteria pull in opposite directions; some suggest that substances are particulars, and others indicate that substances are universals.
