Patrick Juvet, born 1950, was a singer-songwriter, model and disco icon. Born in Montreux, Switzerland, he took piano lessons at the Lausanne Conservatory at the age of six. His professional career took off in 1971 when he moved to Paris, where he was introduced to music mogul Eddy Barclay. A year later, he achieved his first big success with the single “La Musica”. That same year, he composed “Le Lundi au Soleil”, which became a massive hit for French superstar Claude François. By 1978, during the height of the disco era, Juvet relocated to the United States, signing with the legendary Casablanca Records, home to major disco acts like Donna Summer and The Village People. Juvet teamed up with producers Jacques Morali and Henri Belolo, along with Village People’s lead singer Victor Willis. Juvet, Morali and Juvet wrote “Got A Feeling” which became a small hit and also his international smash hit “I Love America”. He struggled personally with depression and alcoholism, topics he told about in his autobiography, “Souvenirs”. Juvet died April 1, 2021, at the age of 70, from cardiac arrest in his apartment in Barcelona. "Got A Feeling" was performed live at Tros Top 50 Live From Rock Planet on July 11, 1978.
