🗣️ Q&A with Bob & Weave 🗣️
⏳ How long have you been collecting and mixing for?
Alex: Less than 2 years.
Joe: I’ve been DJing and collecting for over 3 years, mostly digital, but I recently started mixing vinyl after getting turntables last summer!
💡 What sparked your interest in digging/collecting?
Alex: I’ve always been a bit of a hoarder, and since I’m new to electronic dance music, I’ve become obsessed with discovering new sounds.
Joe: A childhood love of Disclosure led me down a deep electronic rabbit hole, and since then I’ve loved exploring all of electronic music.
🔍 Where do you find your music?
Alex: I do long deep dives into Bandcamp and YouTube for digital music, and my records come from boot fairs.
Joe: I find stuff from DJ mixes I like, then explore the artist’s or label’s back catalogue. Also, I occasionally pinch a tune from Alex’s Bandcamp. 😉
🎶 Any label/artist/collective recommendations for someone to start digging?
Alex: Mr. Bongo and Death is Not the End are great labels to check out.
Joe: Been enjoying mixes on The Mudd Show, and labels like Cartulis, Pleasure Club, and Melodies Record Club for non-electronic stuff that still works in a mix.
🌟 Is there anyone that you take inspiration from? If so who and why?
Alex: I get inspiration from my friends, especially the NESE boys and Joe. Their successes push me to keep learning.
Joe: Ben UFO for the breadth and quality of his sets.
