In memory of their longtime co-writer and collaborator J.D. Souther, who died away on Tuesday at the age of 78, the Eagles have written a touching message. The band saw Souther, a pivotal character in the 1970s Southern California music scene, as a personal friend and a gifted musician whose input influenced some of their most well-known tunes.
