Robotics researchers at Oregon State University are testing autonomous underwater vehicles. These AUV's are to be used to inspect Wave Energy Converters. The research is being funded by the US Department of Energy.

Also being tested is a control system for an underwater robot to grasp and manipulate objects. This research is being funded by the Office of Naval Research.
