In order to realize a society with "resilient mechanisms" that can overcome earthquakes, the Kohiyama Laboratory is engaged in research to enhance the design of buildings and cities. We present our research on the world's first discovery of "Q-Δ resonance," a resonance phenomenon of building torsion, and on improving the control performance of the semi-active seismic isolation system in the Sosokan building on the Yagami Campus.
