I'd been putting off looking under the carpet in the sitting room since we got the house. There were a few soft spots and a few tell tale signs of rot but the floor itself felt fine under foot. Today was the day to have a look and it all has to go. So that's the original dining room floor done, this living room floor underway, but we still have the hallway floor in the back that definitely has to be replaced still to do (we won't mention the upstairs yet). The problem with that floor in the hallway is it supports the stairs to the upstairs so should be lots of fun. This floor should be nice and easy to replace. No big void below to fall down and the span is smaller than the dining room. Should have the joists ordered tomorrow and hopefully have the floor in after the weekend. So much going on at the moment that it is hard not to be distracted by other jobs.
