The owner wasn't too happy and told him to move. The man agreed right away and said that he had been trying to sell art to make money for his wife's cancer treatment.
The owner changed his mind but his security guard had arrived just in time and told the man to move again so he did. He ended up chasing after the man and give him a ride to the hospital where he got to see his wife.
The wife has lukemia and got sick right after giving birth to their second child. However, what they thought was nothing serious turned out to be cancer and she's been bed bound since. She was adopted so she can't ask her parents to donate bone marrow. It wouldn't be a match.
She had thought about tracking down her biological family before but worried that they wouldn't want to see her because they must have abandoned her for a reason. For adoptive parents divorced when she was 8. They didn't treat her too well.
The husband's family treated her better than her own adoptive family. She's very grateful to have them. He takes care of her and the children. He told her that she's not a burden and that their family is complete with her in it. Her only hope now is to find a bone marrow donor.
The man couldn't do much but he did give the man a couple thousand to order a painting from him. The man let the customers decide the price of the paintings themselves. It's definitively more than he was expecting to get. He thanked the store owner profusely before he left.
