The song Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd is an iconic song featuring the guitar talents of David Gilmour. The song starts with the sound of a radio being tuned and a 12 string guitar playing. Then a person can be heard coughing and sniffling as they begin playing an acoustic solo over the song on the "radio". Rumor has it that the person coughing was Gilmour who was a heavy smoker at the time. He supposedly heard the cough in the recording and decided then to quit smoking. But is this just an urban legend? Has Gilmour ever been quoted as saying such a thing? Was he even a heavy smoker as there are only two photos on the internet of him with a cigarette. Tell me your thoughts in the comments. Was this the reason David Gilmour quit his smoking habit? Thanks for watching and please subscribe for more music facts and trivia.
