As a music producer, committing to audio has been one of the most beneficial practices for me. I tend to overthink and become a perfectionist in my music production, which can lead to never-ending tweaks and changes. By committing to audio, I prevent myself from endlessly adjusting small increments and instead focus on the bigger picture. This practice can also be useful for committing to a specific sound or idea within a song. Developing these habits is essential for completing music and avoiding the anxiety that comes with endless tinkering. As the saying goes, "Art is never finished; it's abandoned." Therefore, committing to a good sound or idea and leaving it at that can be more productive than overproducing and ultimately abandoning a track.
