Mad rush of homebound people were seen on Friday on roads, railways and waterways across Bangladesh ahead of Eid-ul-Azha to be celebrated in the country on Sunday.
Tens of thousands of people left Dhaka and other major cities of the country for their ancestral homes by all types of transports that they could avail to celebrate the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha with their near and dear ones.
Like past two days, homebound people continued to suffer immensely on all modes of transports on Friday due to the collapse of schedules, traffic congestion and anarchy over fares on their journey.
Schedules of trains almost collapsed on the day while people travelled on train roofs defying efforts of railway authorities. On the day, people illegally travelled by goods-laden road transports, risking their lives, while the ban on the movement of motorcycles on highways was largely ignored.
The situation at the Dhaka Airport Railway Station and the Sadarghat Launch Terminal was no exception.
