Sam Long’s rise in professional triathlon has been nothing short of meteoric.From the relatively unknown and completely overlooked to becoming the 2021 Collins Cup Team US number one pick to face off against the sport’s GOAT: Jan Frodeno.
Starting out, despite training hard, Sam had very little to show for it on the race course and was not the warmest welcomed to the sport, being described by his peers as a clown who can talk the talk but can’t walk the walk.
However, before long Sam was using the negative reception to his benefit, finally proving to himself and the triathlon world that he has what it takes to be one of the very best.
