Let’s look at the differences between a pentatonic solo vs triad solo. Both the pentatonic based solo and the triad based solo are great ways to visualize the fretboard when creating a blues rock lead guitar solo. Here is a link for the blues rock backing track I used in this lesson video. This is an intermediate to advanced lead guitar lesson. The minor Pentatonic scale is a pattern based way to look at the fretboard. and using Triad is more looking at shapes to visualize the fretboard. These are two great tools that you can use to improvise some great blues rock lead guitar solos. And the magic happens when you mix the minor pentatonic scale and triad shapes all over the fretboard.
