This homeless man was spotted sifting through the garbage for plastic bottles to sell to recycling centers. A kind man had been watching. He's known for helping homeless people get back on their feet and reconnect with their lost family members.
He followed the man and asked how much he makes each day. Around $10 the man said. Although the local currency is different from that of USD, the cost of living is also lower. So a bowl of noodles may be about $3 there. It's definitely not a lot. Not enough for shelter and for much savings. But enough to get by.
The man gave him some cigarettes and a can of food. It obviously made the homeless man very happy. He was so grateful that he gave the kind man a piece of paper. It turns out, his handwriting is very beautiful. He often practice writing when he's not picking garbage.
After some back and forth, the homeless man revealed that he's been in the city since 2005, 19 years, he hasn't been able to find a job. He's been homeless all that time. He comes from a family of 10 siblings. He's the second eldest. He's too embarrassed to go back home and has since cut off all contact with family. He's never married and don't have anyone.
When asked his siblings' names however, he did wrote them down for the man. The man has helped many countless homeless people find their families before. After learning his home town, he should be able to track some of them down.
He revealed that he has been beaten, chased after a store and his things stolen. But he takes it one day at a time. He's satisfied with just one meal a day.
The kind man gave him some money and gave him a second meal of the day. The homeless man is very grateful. Let's hope he would find his siblings soon and end his homeless days.
